About Birch

This sweet boy has won the hearts of everyone that meets him! Birch was rescued off of a kill list in a high kill shelter with a broken femur. They could not afford to help him, and have way too many dogs with no health issues that they have to kill because of overpopulation. The shelter vet suggested amputation. We rescued him, and were going to do just that, but the amazing vet happened to have an orthopedic vet coming, and they were able to save his leg and fix his broken femur. Fantastic news to us! This pup is a staff favorite at the vet where he has been recovering and they have let him be free range at their facility for the past couple of weeks. He is doing amazing, but will need continued nurturing to heal and recover completely. So, obviously dogs that play too rough, or young kids that could fall on him cannot be a part of his new home. We need to keep him protected so he heals properly this first 6 months to a year. As you can see, he's already up and at 'em, and following staff and other animals around the office pressing his toys against them. Birch is estimated to be under 2, some think maybe just around 1, so just a pup, he's fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and ready to go to his new home that has the experience to provide him continued recovery care. He will return the favor by being the most loyal, and loving companion a person or family could ask for! Love this boy!
