About Tasman

I'm looking for an active home for my heeler Tasman. My husband and I have a new baby on the way and Tas will be too much to handle with the baby. Tas is 2.5 years old. We got him from a shelter in the spring. He was found as a stray in Oakland, OR, so we don't know anything about his first two years. He is very loyal and loves to be with his people all the time. We've been working with a professional trainer to learn how to keep his high energy in check and train other negative behaviors out of him, but there is more work to do. He is a good dog 90% of the time, but due to the other 10% of the time, he needs an owner that can provide him with lots of activity and can focus on training. Tas has a strong prey drive which has led to issues with wildlife, cats, and small dogs. He has bitten other dogs, but has not bitten people. He has been good with children, but can be unpredictable.
