About Martinique

Martinique This is Martinique, a female Australian Cattledog mix who was born in May, 2021. Martinique currently weighs about 28 pounds. We think she will get just a bit bigger. Martinique is a smartie. In her foster home, she has learned sit, down, shake, crawl, and stand.��%BD%A0She is mostly house trained and already knows how to use the dog door. She is crate trained and sleeps quietly through the night. Martinique loves other dogs and loves to play. She is also good with cats. The kitty she lives with puts up with her puppy shenanigans ans they often hang out together. Click on the red YouTube button to see her try to get the kitty to play. Martinique is a shy girl. It's just her nature. Others in her litter were also shy. She likes a slow introduction to new people so she isn't afraid. She needs a home with a confident dog sibling who shows her that new people are nice. She relies on the foster dogs in her house to give her those cues and she responds well. With a dog sibling, Martinique is even able to be a patio guest at Lazy Dog Restaurant where she curls up at your feet and is a polite little lady. The key is a quiet, confident owner and a confident dog sibling. With her people, Martinique loves to cuddle. She also loves to go on outdoor adventures. She is excellent in the car and is a wondeful hiker. She is a good walker on quiet streets. Busy neighborhoods or walking past busy parks are too much for this girl. Martinique will never be a social butterfly, but at home with her people she is a goofy and very loving pup. She loves to play chase with her people, showing how happy she is with a smile and a puppy wiggle butt. After the silliness, she loves to cuddle up on the couch. ��%BD%A0 Stuffed toys beware! They aren't safe. As for socks and slippers, she will borrow but not damage them. Beyond those items, she leaves things alone. Martinique is a perfect balance of going out to have fun and relaxing. She isn't lazy but also isn't overly active. Martinique is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She is located in Sourhern CA. All adopters must be able to comer here to meet and adopt. A vet reference and home visit are required. We do not ship our dogs.
