About PAULY VON PLAUEN

Pauly von Plauen is a very handsome 1-2 -year-old German Shepherd-mix. It doesn't take too long upon meeting someone at the rescue that Pauly drops any reservations. He's the kind of boy who will follow his people around and is very sweet once he knows you, but can be cautious with new people and may become protective in a home. He comes very calmly out of his kennel for a walk, and there is no issue with putting on and removing his collar. He walks in a heel position, happy to be out and about in a pack of dogs. In play groups he socializes well with other dogs in the yard, even meeting other dogs face-to-face. Exploring and sniffing about is fun too, and he loves to shadow the people around -- perhaps hoping for a treat. And he does appreciate treats! Treats seem to be a bit of a current obsession and he will do anything he is asked to do in order to get one, so it's important to offer them with an open palm. He seems to be a medium-energy dog. Pauly is housebroken, knows some basic commands, and was apparently well-behaved when left alone. He loves squeaky toys and seems to have a fairly high prey-drive, so no small dogs or cats.
