Joker is a Purebred Tricolor American Bully. He was a gift from my sister, who has is mother, and I didn't know how difficult his breed could be, and lack all experience needed. Joker was very easy to train, I never had to house break him or kennel break him. He knows all the tricks and commands. However, he has very bad anxiety when he's outside his bubble, leash aggression towards other dogs, and stranger danger issues. With strangers, once they meet in an appropriate way/setting and he has their scent, he never forgets them and is usually fine from there. He is very protective of his people and his home. If he feels threatened, he reacts aggressively. We have done lots of behavior modification training, with trainers who specialize in Bully Breeds, along with other things. Our biggest struggle is that my partner and I can't get on the same page and parent him differently. No matter the amount of training we have been through. As soon as we think we are making head way, something happens. The best way to describe it is, he's perfect and amazing until something new is happening or out of the normal and he gets sudden bad ADHD and can't control himself and we can't control him. He is so loving, cuddly, and very faithful. It breaks my heart, but I don't know how to handle him in extreme anxiety situations. The best thing I can do for him is find someone who has experience with dogs of his breed. I believe with the right person, who knows how to handle him, Joker could strive to be an even better dog!
