About Maya

Maya is 5 years old and has been with me since she was 8 weeks old . She has never been neglected or abused. My husband recently passed and he was Maya's primary caregiver. I am 72 years old and, due to health , mobility and financial issues, I am unable to care for her. She is friendly but I don't leave her alone with my young grandchildren since she once growled at my then 6 year old grandson She has never bitten anyone but can get snappy. She was diagnosed with megaesophagus 2 years ago but is otherwise healthy and active. She would not adapt to the Bailey chair so I feed her while she is on an incline on the stairs. She is prescribed Hills ZD canned food supplanted with Hills AD canned food for episodes of inappetence. She likes to be in my fenced yard , was a regular at the dog park, likes car rides, going for walks , playing fetch and running. She was very attached to my late husband, his illness and death saddened and confused her.
