About Boomer

Boomer's person passed away and he is now looking for someone new to devote himself to. Boomer is a 4 years old Australian Cattledog mix who weighs about 42 pounds. He is 16-17' tall. Boomer knows his basics: up, sit, and go inside (his pen). Click on the red YouTube button to see Boomer in action. He is house and crate trained. Boomer is a one person kind of dog. For his person, someone who is a fair and solid leader, he is devoted and wants to please. For those who are not his person, he is slow to warm up and doesn't like to do what is asked. He has to be earned and is then a total sidekick. Boomer is fine with other dogs and doesn't show any interest in playing. He would be fine as an only dog. Boomer is ok on leash. It's not his favorite thing. He is also fine in the car. Boomer does resource guard, which is manageable. He has nipped a few of his current family in the foot and broke skin over resource guarding, so they just manage it so it doesn't happen again. His new home has to be ready to manage this as well. His ideal home is with one or two people who are solid leaders who want a dog to be their pal but don't care if he doesn't want to go out as much. He would like a decent sized yard. He will appreciate a quiet environment where he is loved and not allowed to be a bossy guy. Boomer is a smart dog. He's also protective. When he picks his person, he is very loving and loyal to that person. That's why he is needing a new best friend to be that one special person. Boomer is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in Murrieta, CA. Adopters must be able to meet and adopt here. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required.
