About Ziva

I adopted Ziva {pronounced like 'Diva'} 4 yrs. ago. She is an Australian Cattle dog mix and weighs about 65 lbs. She was abused as a pup and spent the first year and a half in a shelter. She is very territorial and protective of me. She has come a long way, but is scared of everything. She knows basic commands and is house trained. She has never messed in the house unless she was feeling ill. My husband passed last year so I have no help taking care of her. I am retired and have started traveling more and cannot afford to put her in a kennel while I'm gone. I am looking for a forever home for her with someone that will give her the love and care she needs. She does suffer from seasonal allergies and needs bathed often. Once she gets to know you, she is a very sweet girl, but does not like strangers coming in the house. She doesn't mind my grandkids, but is weary of most adults. She is not social with most other dogs, so she would need a home where she is the only one. She's very low energy and just loves to lay around the house all day. She loves her walks on the leash and does super on leash, but if she gets off leash, she's gone and does not listen to come back. She does back eventually though.
