About Layla

Lab mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Layla is a friendly one year old female Labrador retriever mix with a friendly outgoing personality. A rescued stray, she was almost hit by oncoming traffic in the middle of four lanes of busy traffic. It was apparent she had been surviving a long time on her own from her poor health and appearance. One of our devoted volunteers has been fostering Layla and this dog has really blossomed under her care. She reports Layla is a smart, energetic, fun-loving girl who loves attention. She enjoys the companionship of people and is anxious to learn and please. Her foster father spends time each day with Layla to socialize, play and train with her. She follows simple commands with ease and tries her best to be a good girl. This sweet girl is best suited for an adult or family with older children that enjoy an active lifestyle. An energetic playful dog, she needs someone that is home a good portion of the day. Layla enjoys her walks around the neighborhood and is improving daily with her leash skills. She may be a good fit for another large active dog that enjoys rambunctious play. Layla is too much for her foster family's small dogs and cats; she weighs 60 pounds! Consequently, she has been living outdoors. A warm comfy bed inside a garden shed, however, is not an ideal home for this loving lady. Layla prefers living indoors so she can be close to her family. She may need more training to be housebroken and a securely fenced in backyard is a must. Layla's foster family has grown quite fond of her but realizes this sweet girl is ready to move on to a loving forever home. If you're interesting in adopting this wonderful dog, the first step is to submit your application. Layla is anxious to meet you and hopes she will see you soon!
