About Frankie and Billie

Bengal
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Frankie and Billie are a bonded pair who were born in the same litter in November 2013 (they are 7 years old). Their family loves them dearly - so much so, that when they reached out to us for help finding them a new home - they sent us the most amazing love letter we'd ever seen, telling us all about them. Frankie is a silver male (14 lbs.) and Billie is the brown rosetted female (8 lbs.). They have never known a life without each other, so they will not be separated. Over the years, their family began to develop allergies, to the point where Frankie and Billie could not enjoy nighttime snuggles and hugs. There are children in the home that range from 18 months to 7 years old, and for that reason medication / allergy shots are not an option. Bengal Cats are definitely known to be easier on people with cat allergies, but they are NOT hypoallergenic. That is an unfortunate myth that has been spread far and wide. When we do get cats in our program due to allergies, we usually find that there are plenty of great families that have no allergic reaction at all. Their family says: 'They have been extremely loved and cared for, but as much as we love them, we know that they will be better loved and cared for by a family without allergies. I have to push them away when they hop on my lap looking for pets, and now my daughter is starting to do the same. It's just not fair, nor the best circumstance for them anymore. But let's tell you more about this amazing pair. As mentioned, they live in a family with young children and their family says that they have been remarkably patient and loving towards the children. They have not lived with any other pets so we can't make assurances as to how they might get along with other cats or dogs. They did have a gentle medium-sized dog visitor (they dog-sat for a friend), and the dog was very easy going with them so it did not create any issues. Frankie and Billie are very friendly cats! Frankie is the shyer one, at first, when meeting strangers but both cats are very well mannered and friendly, overall. Like any cat, they love gazing out the windows, climbing on their perches and towers, and then settling down for a leisurely nap once play time is done. They both absolutely love being brushed! They are perfect housemates in that they don't scratch the furniture, and they use their litter boxes religiously. Billie is definitely the more dominant of the two. She is extremely friendly with strangers and visitors and always lets her family know if she wants pets or attention by meowing on their laps. She is the more outgoing and 'brave' of the two. She has become the favorite of their 7-year-old daughter who does pick her up and carry her around the house; Billie patiently puts up with it. She is also the one to wait by the door for an opportunity to door-dart, so her adopters will need to be extremely cautious.Frankie is the lover of the two. He just wants someone to love and pet him and will gently paw at your hand until you give him the attention he wants. As previously mentioned, he tends to be shy with strangers and will hide when visitors come over. He eventually will come out once he's feeling comfortable.' They are very snuggly and loving cats, on their terms (like most Bengals). They are not the 'pick me up and hold me' cat, but the 'I will come and lay on you when I feel like it' cat. They are both your typical 'curious cat' and like to climb in boxes, sniff anything new that comes into the house, lick plastic bags, and are still very playful (with each other and with toys mostly toys they 'borrow' from the toddler). Both are very vocal 'meowers', and live up to the names they were given. Frankie for ole blue eyes Frank Sinatra (because his eyes as a kitten were bright blue), and Billie for Sinatra's contemporary, Billie Holiday. They love to be up high and sit on window ledges. They have always been indoor cats. Frankie and Billie live in a large, 4 bedroom home, however the bedrooms have been off limits for them due to the allergies the family is experiencing. They are very sad about this because they know that Frankie and Billie would love to snuggle with them at night. They have no medical issues and are not experiencing any litter box avoidance issues. They are spayed, neutered, have all of their claws (and were trained to allow their owners to clip their claws), they are not microchipped, and are up to date on vaccinations.' If you are interested in adopting Frankie and Billie, please fill out our Adoption Application:https://bengalrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/
