Purrcy is a very energetic and playful 1.5 year-old Tabby cat that has been living with my 70 year-old mother in Smyrna, GA for the past year and a half, after she found him in the street behind her house. He is FIV+ but otherwise very healthy and active. He is sweet most of the time but occasionally becomes aggressive (i.e. hissing and scratching) when he is upset or afraid, like when I visit with my dog. Because of this, and because her age and medical issues are making it increasingly difficult for her to look after Purrcy, my mom has been recommended by her veterinarian that she look for a new home for Purrcy --- somewhere with a younger owner or a barn-like setting when he can chase small critters, or a home with a fellow FIV+ cat. My mom is sad to have to give him up but wants what's best for him. We have contacted multiple shelters but they are all at full capacity, and we area afraid that if we take him to the county animal services department he will be euthanized. Please help us find a new home for Purrcy!
