About Rio

Coming Soon to California: Special Needs: BLIND Meet Rio! An approximately 2 year old border collie male. Rio is a very sweet border collie who gets along with all dogs and people. Rio is considered high energy and needy who loves toys, human engagement and playing with tolerant dogs. Rio is blind in both eyes and will need to go to the right owner and environment. He is well adapted and gets around very well and is capable of going up and down stairs, navigating the house and yard. He does take time and is cautious or timid in a new environment. Rio is going to need a committed, patient and understanding home! Blind dog experience is major bonus but someone who is looking for a project, this could be your guy!!! Rio is high energy and we think was left by himself a lot in the past. With this being said, he has developed some OCD like tendencies like spinning circles and or running back and forth in the yard. This can be acknowledged by redirecting him or keeping him busy. Rio needs: -Committed and experienced dog owner -time to engage and train -a secure fenced yard and a home free of hazards such as swimming pools or sharp objects -someone active! Rio loves to play and go for walks. -a home that will adapt to Rio's needs!!! The less change to his environment the better Rio is neutered, microchipped and UTD on shots.
