About Chase

Chase was found abandoned in the wilderness 1&1/2 years ago. Friends on FB knew his owners, said he'd been neglected in back yard for first 2 years. Former owner also beat him when he misbehaved due to lack of training. I found him in the burned out area of NorCal almost 3 months after the family supposedly took him when they moved. I have rehabbed him some, but I'm a disabled veteran and his exuberance has caused me to go down 5 times. The last time, I broke my ankle. While he has learned some things, I think he needs a younger person who can take him hiking, running, Chase is still afraid of new things, though he has learned to walk well on a lead and loves the park. He has made some progress being socialized and has made friends with a few submissive dogs. He is afraid of young kids and tall men wearing ball caps. I have had good success introducing him to new people by bringing their hand to him to smell first. He likes to be touching his person most of the time. I love this guy, but I feel he deserves a younger owner who can spend time adventuring with him. I just can't risk further injury because I'm not solid on my feet.
