About Malachi

��%BD��%BDͫEXTREMELY URGENT��%BD��%BDͫ COLUMBUS, OHIO Franklin County Dog Shelter This is MALACHI and he's the longest resident at the shelter. He's now on their MUST PULL EUTH LIST for Sunday 10/10 This means if no one steps up for him he will be euthanized. Since MALACHI is the longest shelter resident I did email the shelter and requested that they do a marketing blast to get the word out about him. I was told: 'Malachi requires a very specific home, I do not think a general blast would be beneficial at this time.' Couldn't that specific home have been found by marketing? MALACHI was in a temporary shelter foster home and this is what the foster said: 'Malachi is the sweetest boy! He didn't love the shelter environment but is so good at home. In the house he is the perfect dog, quiet, cuddly, potty and crate trained! He loves to snuggle, ask for pets, and give kisses. He is good at keeping himself entertained and really enjoys squeaky toys and bones. He does not show any signs of resource guarding with food or toys even when very excited. When he meets new people or gets excited he sometimes jumps or gets mouthy the way a puppy would. He is learning this behavior is not allowed. He is smart and eager to learn and please, he just needs the right people that will dedicate time and patience to training and building his confidence. He needs a house with no kids due to jumping, and should also be the only pet in the home. Malachi will be your new best friend in no time, don't overlook this guy! Malachi has a strong prey drive and outside of the house he can get overstimulated/anxious and be reactive to his environment. This can be mitigated by exercising him before walks so he's a little more relaxed. He's working on basic obedience training and learning fast!
