About Rango

Adoption Fee: $30
Manx / Domestic Cat
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Rango was found as a kitten inches from the pavement on the turnpike near Homestead, FL on November 5, 2011. His face was wounded when he was found which healed with veterinarian treatment. His name was inspired by the Pixar film where the main character fell from the back of a moving vehicle which we like to think is what happened and luckily I rescued him before he tried to cross the freeway.%A0%A0I've included a photo, when he was found he was only a few months old.%A0He's talkative and will let you know when he's hungry or bored with sweet 'meows.' He loves sunning in the window and likes to be pet (only around his forehead/ears)... and occasionally his rump. He has a sensitive back and stomach which are mostly off limits. He loves playing with his little sister, Luna.%A0 Our hope is that the two cats can be adopted as a pair but also understand that they may need to be adopted separately. %A0 The reason we can't keep these cats is because our first born daughter has recently arrived and is highly allergic. To prevent health issues, the Dr. recommends we find them a new home. Although it makes us very sad to see them go, we want to find them a loving home. They are temporarily with our extended family until we find a permanent new home for them.%A0 If you are interested in adopting these two, please reach out. More about RANGO And LUNA:Rango and Luna are usually active together in the AM. He and his sister love to drink trickling water from the shower faucet. They love their cat scratch lounger. For bad behavior, they respond well to 'Sentry Stop-that' product.%A0 Rango has a sensitive digestive system and does not do well with any cat food that has chicken or chicken meal in it. It means reading the ingredients at the store and making sure. Best is dry food which has salmon, lamb, venison or turkey as the main ingredient. I usually feed a half bowl once at morning and once at night. When on vacation I'll leave a full bowl per day. He won't usually eat wet food and doesn't seem interested in what humans eat. On occasion will give him treats and he gets quite excited for catnip which I'll give only occasionally (about once per month)
