About Bambee

Meet Bambee!! If you are looking for a sweet little girl who is also a bit of a kook then Bambee is your gal!! Full of tail wags, kisses and belly rubs this little doll will happily cuddle with you and the next minute try to steal your socks! At only 10 months old she has not had the greatest start in life. The previous owner had the Mom and said she got pregnant by accident and kept Bambee and her sister ( who has already been adopted). We were told the Mom was a Shih Tzu Terrier mix and they had no idea who the Dad was but may have been a Terrier Chihuahua mix. Both Bambee and her sister Cookie, never saw anyone else but the two women who owned them and spent the majority of their time in the backyard. They never received vaccines, spays or medical care until they came into rescue. She weighs in at about 10 pounds. When Bambee first came into rescue she was very shy. She had not seen other humans and was never taken on a walk. Now that she has been in her foster home for two months with many other dogs and cats her own special personality has begun to take root! With her sister also adopted who hogged all the attention and toys Bambee has becomen SUPER playful and loves toys! She is great with other dogs and cats. Here in her foster home her best friends are a male Maltipoo named Yetti and an orange tabby cat named Kash. She loves to sleep in bed at night but as soon as you wake up she is unbelievably happy to start a brand new day! She has learned to go for walks and does great on a leash. She is still fearful with new people but with the commitment to socialization she will continue to blossom. She is also very good with kids. Although Bambee is a small dog we think it best for her to have a home with a yard as she loves to do her zoomies and run around with carefree abandon. Her adoption fee includes the following: 1. Spay 2. Current vaccinations including rabies 3. Deworming 4. Microchip 5. Grooming 6. Starter food 7. Harness and leash An adoption fee does apply. As we prescreen via email ONLY (we do NOT make or receive phone calls in the pre-screening phase) please tell us a bit about you such as: 1. Your lifestyle, activity level and work schedule. 2. Area you live in and if it is a house or apartment. (Please indicate city) 3. How many adults, children and pets in the household. 4. Where your pet stays when you are out or at work. 5. Where your pet will sleep. 6. Dog breed experience 7. Have you ever had to give up a pet 8. If you do not currently have a pet how you will keep Bambee socialized with other dogs Some notes to consider before applying for Bambee 1.. Bambee is a 10 month old puppy and as such will require the time and commitment to become the best canine citizen she can be. Please make sure that everyone is on board and ready for the responsibility of a young dog. She is housebroken but with all dogs consistent training is very important. 2. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER. 3. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. We try to answer every email but it is not always possible. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place. 4. PLEASE do NOT send more than one email. It slows down the process. 5. We do not make appointments for people to just come 'see' the dogs available.
