About Merle/Marley

Lab / Beagle
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Well, When you're super smart, you tend to not like everyone you meet right away. He doesn't like to meet people reaching for him or getting in his face. Ignoring him is his best policy, he takes treats very gently and knows some tricks too! If you try too hard, he feels uncomfortable, If you ignore him, he will come to you and start to lean. He warms up pretty quickly, you just have to play hard to get. Once he's sold on you, and he claims you, he's AMAZING to his person or people. Merle is very loving, kissing, and gently, playful. He loves to ride in a car and is calm as can be. He's not a big barker, but he likes to talk. We believe this guy has been almost over trained which has caused him some trust issues until he knows you. He just needs the right person, willing to take the time with him, he listens very well, and wants a soul mate or two, but not a busy home. He would do best in a country home that doesn't have a lot of people coming and going while trying to force themselves on him. He sounds harder than he is, because he really is a gem of a dog to his people, and will sit quietly in a car waiting for you while ignoring anyone coming to his window and being completely non reactive. He typically ignores other dogs too. He just wants a human to bond with and be with all of the time. If you fit this description or know someone who may, please give this guy a shot. He could very well be the best dog that you've ever had. Even though he doesn't think he's a dog. Merle is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and ready to find his soul mate, He thinks he is meant to be that persons lap dog and joy ride partner. Praying for this amazing little dude to find the right fit! Merle is a smaller stocky guy at about 45-50 pounds too, a great size!
