About Maizie

3/29/21: Maizie has been with us for 222 days now. In that time she's been in 6 different potential homes and has been at one other rescue to network her further but sat with no interest so she came back. Maizie has been completely failed by people in her short two years. We do not have the resources or time to dedicate to a single dog when we are the sole providers to 15+ dogs daily. She struggles with seeking attention, which leads to mouthing, and with meeting new people. If you are dog savvy, especially with reactivity, and you have the time and means to do right by Maizie please reach out. SHE NEEDS DEDICATION. Preferences: - Another playful dog in the home - Muzzle advocate - Structured routine - Lots of treats, she's extremely food motivated - No children or small animals Maizie is a 2 year old Beagle/Terrier mix and weighs around 40 lbs. We don't know her true past but we do know she is frightened by new people and new experiences. But she is sweet as pie once she gets to know you and she's dog friendly. Since Maizie has never had anything constant in her young life, she treasures what she does have and can be protective over her person especially children, she loves them. This is not a flaw. She has the potential to pull out of the behavior given someone will dedicate their time to her. She is house trained, and knows basic commands. Maizie absolutely deserves her forever. It is not her fault someone chose to not spay/neuter their pets and she was the result. Maizie is UTD on vaccines, dewormer, rabies shot, she's spayed, and she's microchipped.
