About Sissy

Boxer
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Sissy is a very sweet, gentle, and petite girl. It has become apparent that she was kept outside in her former home and is a little frightened, but warming up to her foster parents little by little. She has learned that the couch is a nice soft spot to lay on and is starting to figure out how to play with toys. She is more comfortable with dogs than with humans right now, so should have another dog to companion with in her forever home. Her foster mom reports that her wiggle-butt comes out more and more every day. Sissy is 5 years old and weighs only 44 lbs.; she is mostly housebroken, but does have the occasional accident if not watched closely. She has major anxiety in a crate, but is not destructive at all if left out; she walks great on a leash, but is fearful when passing others and wants to get away. Sissy is great with other dogs, but has not been around kids or cats in her foster home. Sissy has been diagnosed with a corneal edema in her left eye, likely from trauma; it is not painful and although the vision is affected in that eye, she is not blind in it. It likely won't resolve, and an eye ointment needs to be administered 2-3 times a day probably for life. Sissy needs a quiet home, without a lot of activity in order to bloom.
