About Tang

Say 'WOOF' to Tang the Tank! Tang was surrendered to us after his previous owner became ill and could no longer care for him. He has not been away from his owner ever before, but is adjusting well and has been ultimately sweet and friendly with staff. Tang is a big, beautiful Japanese Akita who is in need of a little bit of training to keep him on the right track. He is very intelligent, people-oriented, and food motivated; we suspect he will be a quick learner as he is already picking up some new tricks in his short time at the rescue! In his previous home, he would often go on walks with a few of the neighboring dogs, that he had been slowly introduced to, and did well. He has no bite history and has only been known to be a BIG, sweet ball of love. We hope to find him a permanent home with someone who is knowledgable and experienced with Akitas or large breed dogs, and has a very active lifestyle to keep up with Tang's daily exercise needs. He is also in need of some basic training, so we are seeking someone patient, who is willing to invest time and effort to help him learn new things. He has not been at the rescue long, but has won over the hearts of the staff and volunteers already with his big, fluffy, bear hugs.
