About Wally

Dalmatian / Pointer
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Disclaimer! The joke's on Cruella DeVille, but we don't want to joke with Wally's future family. You see, Wally's genes have gone haywire. His DNA test show Wally is 40% German Shepherd with a slew of other breeds, none of which are Dalmatian or Pointer. After months listed as a GSD mix, we hope you understand our decision (for Wally's sake only) to reach his future family through a 'white lie with polka dots.' Wally is a GREAT all-around dog! This handsome 3-year old, 78-pound male super mutt is from Brentwood, NH. He likes to run around the yard and play with toys with his people or by himself. He also likes to play fetch, swim, and go boating. He is a good traveler, too. He has a moderate energy level but also likes to chill out. Because of his working breeds, Wally is intelligent and eager to keep busy. He likes to learn and is treat-motivated. He knows numerous commands from professional training so his new person will want to keep them up. Wally loves walking and jogging. He walks at a heel and has a good recall when off leash. He also has those wonderful qualities that pet owners appreciate: crate-trained, house-trained, healthy, neutered, and UTD on shots and preventives. He doesn't chew, jump on furniture, or jump up on people. Wally needs a new home because his current household is unsettling to him. He and his brother were adopted together, but their personalities are incompatible. While Wally is outgoing and inquisitive, his brother is highly anxious and barks a lot every day. One of his owners is also anxious, giving more stressors for Wally to feed off. This combination sets Wally off and he himself becomes reactive and anxious around strangers and dogs. We know the home is wrong for Wally because he is a different dog in a more balanced environment. With his trainers, he's calm, gets along with dogs, follows directions, loves off-leash pack activities, shows confidence, and has no signs of the behavior he displays at home. For Wally to be the dog his trainer and staff know, he needs a new home and family that matches his temperament. Wally's trainer will help you communicate with Wally and integrate him into your life. Ideally, Wally would live near Brentwood to continue his outings. Wally's trainers describe him as introverted with dogs, so he can be your one-and-only or join another dog who is balanced and easy going. Wally's Checklist: 1) laid back home; 2) active lifestyle 3) confident dog owners with working dog experience; 4) no children or cats; 5) yard with a fence is preferred; 5) no city, apartment.
