About Nahla

Nahla is a beautiful 10-year's-young purebred Bengal Cat. She has the most DAZZLING sparkle coat and has simply never met a stranger! Nahla is sweet, loving, high energy, and chatty! She loves everyone she's ever met and her favorite thing to do is head-butt her humans. Nahla isn't being re-homed because she is unloved. She not being re-homed for litter box avoidance issues, or any medical conditions. Nahla is simply being re-homed for her own safety. Currently, Nahla is living in a warehouse at a Winery in Healdsburg, CA. Rest assured, she wasn't purchased as a kitten, to live that way. Quite the opposite, in fact. Nahla grew up in a home with other cats and dogs, and it soon became apparent to the family that she was not fond of sharing her home with them. In order to keep the peace, Nahla was allowed access to the outdoors during daylight hours (her family was nearby). She was always brought in at night. Occasionally she got into trouble, such as an occasional disagreement with foxtails, but otherwise she kept herself quite safe and always used a litter box (she still does). Nahla's life was quite idyllic up until 2017. In the fall of 2017, her family suffered many devastating blows as the result of the deadly Tubbs fire, culminating with the family's home being burned down to the ground. While she and her family survived, three of her cat companions did not. Days after the fire, Nahla was discovered at the site of her home that no longer stood. She was treated for dehydration and was lucky enough to not suffer from burns or smoke inhalation. It was a miracle. Nahla's family, meanwhile, were struggling with housing - like so many other residents in the area. They did their very best to keep Nahla close - but many times over, she would take off to return to the original family home that no longer stood. The journey from her location to the original homesite was fraught with dangerous crossings. In order to protect her, Nahla's family moved her to the Winery for her own safety. At the Winery, she spends her days greeting visitors and employees. She's no longer returning to the original home site. But the Winery is not a good or safe place for her. There is lots of equipment passing through all day. Her family really worries for her safety. Given all that Nahla has been through, we're hoping to find her a loving family that can give her all the attention she craves. She loves humans. She has OODLES of energy and is really a fun girl. Nahla is not a fan of young children, cats or dogs. She would do best in a family that has lots of time and love to give her. She's used to being admired and doted upon, so we hope to find her a home that can carry on that tradition. Nahla is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. Her family has gone above and beyond to ensure her health and regular Veterinary check ups.
