About Dorito

American Staffordshire Terrier / Boxer
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Urgent! Urgent! Needs home by 11/14 to be saved from euthanasia list! This cheesy boy has been waiting at the local county shelter for over 2 months looking at new faces day after day, wondering when a family will pick him! Dorito is ready to go home! Dorito is a 3-4 year old mixed breed weighing around 57 lbs. He is fixed, up to date on shots, and microchipped! Dorito was found and caught by the dog catchers on the street, so it's no surprise that his first few days at the shelter had a lot of wide eyes, trembling, and growling at new people and smells. The staff worked with Dorito for a few weeks to get him to eat treats and walk on a leash to the potty yard. Today Dorito has started to wag his tail and recognize his routine. Did you know shelter dogs only get out of their kennels 1 or 2 times a week? Dorito sits and waits quietly for a home he can finally start to relax in! He is still timid and can take his time to warm up to new people, however Dorito does like to be pet when he's ready! He takes treats very gently from people, however due to his scaredy cat behavior the shelter requires kids 5+ in the home. After months of waiting, Dorito is starting to get restless in his kennel and resisting going back in. We don't blame him! This sweet guy is overdue for a home! At this time we are unsure of how Dorito will do with other dogs. A lot of time fear dogs feel more comfortable with dogs than humans to learn from. Come meet Dorito today at the West Shelter! https://mcaccappointments.as.me/schedule.php
