About Janie

Janie is ready for her furever home! She will be 6 years old in a couple of weeks, 27 lbs, spayed, current on vaccines and heartworm prevention and has her microchip. Janie has seasonal allergies so she takes OTC medication twice daily to control her minor symptoms. Without it, she gets very itchy and will develop hotspots on her feet. This beautiful Sable Pembroke Welsh Corgi came into rescue when she decided she did NOT like to share her home with another female dog. She was fine with male dogs but has recently decided she doesn't like to share her human with any dogs whatsoever! So we are looking for a home where Janie can be the only canine queen of the castle. We don't know how she is with cats and kids but recommend no children under 10, if any in her future home. Janie doesn't care for loud voices and will get between humans who are having loud conversations. In other words, Janie likes a quiet and calm environment. Janie loves to spend her days laying on the couch, going for walks, snuggling and then snuggling some more. She is house trained and will use a doggy door if provided. Otherwise she's very good at letting you know she needs to go outside. In her previous life, she was an indoor/outdoor dog but since coming into rescue, she has been a strictly indoor dog but has plenty of outdoor time to do her business and lounge with her human on those cooler evenings. This petite beauty is crate trained and knows to go to her crate when it's bed time with a simple 'Go to bed' command. She also likes to travel but she is a passenger seat (tethered) kind of gal. Janie's ideal home would be with a retired person or couple or with someone who works from home. She will need a home with a securely fenced yard so no apartments please.
