About Claudio

Meet Claudio! Claudio is a beautiful chocolate Labrador approx., 2-3 years old, underweight at 62 pounds that were starved. Claudio came to us via a shelter out of South Alabama and in real need. He is not only underweight, it's apparent he underwent a botched gun dog training method. Poor Claudio is scared of everything including his own shadow, walks low to the ground while looking back and forth at what may come at him. Luckily, he has already gained some confidence in the period we have had him. He is a very affectionate dog with no aggression what's so ever! He is super high energy, loves water, and loves to play fetch. We are working on housebreaking him since it's obvious this poor boy never lived in a home, but he is doing great and fine with his crate training. Claudio without any doubt was starved in order to get him to do what was expected of him, his fears tell me apparatuses were used when he responds well to positive reinforcement which is the preferred method of training. Claudio will need a family willing to work with him as we are currently. He is an absolute LOVE and deserving of all the best life has to offer him. He is a typical Labrador who drinks WATER messy, LOVES to swim and to run chasing a ball. He definitely needs a home that can give him plenty of activity, nurture him so he can gain the confidence he needs to be a well-balanced dog. Claudio will require an environment where there is plenty of family, love, large place to run. He is worth every effort and will be an amazing dog once he puts that dreaded past behind him! Claudio still has just one other battle ahead from his past. He did, unfortunately, test heartworm positive and has begun treatment. Claudio was neutered, is up-to-date on all his vaccines, and microchipped.
