About Sadie

*** Foster Location: South suburbs of Chicago. No out of the area applications, please. *** Sadie, an 8 year old, 23 pound spayed female, is an absolute joy. Sadie appears to be a Terrier Mix. We have her listed here as a Cairn Terrier Chihuahua mix because she looks like some pictures of that mix. Sadie is, however, bigger than both of those breeds. Could be Border Terrier in her, but again, Sadie is bigger than a Border Terrier. Foster Location: South suburbs of Chicago. No out of the area applications, please. Home Recommendation: Detached Single Family with small dog secure fenced yard. A doggie playmate would be a plus. Overall: Sadie is an absolute joy who loves to be with her human & to play with willing dogs near her size. Dogs: Sure. Sadie does like to play with willing dogs near her own size. She gets along in her foster group of larger & smaller dogs. Kids: As long as they are knowledgeable & patient enough to let Sadie approach them, why not. Housetrained: You bet. Not even any transition period accidents. Health: Sadie has no known health problems. She has been successfully treated for heartworm. Background: Sadie was given away by a former owner to a person who neglected her, let her loose & did not want her back. Sadie was cared for overnight by a Portage police/animal control officer until taken in by Heather's Foster Dogs. Sadie's ear infections & flea dermatitis were quickly & successfully treated but tests showed Sadie was heartworm positive. Sadie had her first h/w treatment at the end of July & her second at the end of August. Cat compatibility: No cats in her foster home so we don't know for sure. Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yes Up to date on heartworm, flea & tick preventatives: Yes Sadie's adoption fee is $295.
