About Enzo

Adoption Fee: $350
Border Collie / Airedale
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

This cool dude is Enzo. He is a Border Collie/Airedale Terrier mix. He was born in January, 2021. He weighs about 45 pounds, 22 inches at the shoulder. He has a fun, funky, curly mohawk down his back with a neat feel to it: kind of like soft velcro.%A0 And he's got a cute happy scruffy face.%A0 His coat seems to be low shedding and easy to wash and dry.%A0 Enzo is smart and well trained. He knows:%A0 Sit, down, heel, right turn, left turn, down at a distance, recall, finish in a heel on recall, 'go to your crate', 'off' and 'leave it', waiting and making eye contact for treats and his dinner, learning to 'wait' at doors and gates. As for tricks, he knows: Right turns, left turns, down at a distance, hurdles, 'touch' games, we are working on target stick.%A0 He did very well in an Intro to Nosework class where the instructor was impressed with his ability to track scent. He likes to learn and is very responsive to positive training, relaxation protocol, treats, and clicker work. Enzo is house trained and uses the dog door. He is also crate trained. He uses the crate to relax and sleep.%A0%A0 Enzo is good with anyone kind and appropriate.%A0 He has liked pets from people at the dog park sometimes.%A0 The calm kids he's met have been able to give him treats for tricks or pets.%A0 On hikes and walks he gets a little shy of people approaching and just prefers some distance.%A0 He will get curious and want to sniff if new people direct their attention away from him.%A0 Treats are a great icebreaker for him. Enzo is good with other dogs. He loves to play and even shares toys with dogs he knows. He even initiates tug games with them.%A0 Enzo loves the dog park and is appropriate with other dogs there. When other dogs have been rough with him he may snap in defense but shakes it off easily and gets back to playing. Enzo loves fetching rope toys and floppy toys.%A0 He loves sharing his toys with his people and will find toys to bring to initiate a game. Wnzo is good in the car and can get excited when he sees he is going somewhere he likes. Enzo is good on leash and can be uncertain sometimes with new situations or passing strange dogs. A confident dog pal helps him see that it's all ok. Enzo is best on quiet streets and hikes, so being a city dog isn't the life for him. Enzo has a lot of fun happy energy that can make him anxious at times.%A0 He will need someone who can keep his energy focused on them or on positive activities and can help build his confidence.%A0 He started out a little defensive and unsure with physical handling at first, but is much easier to handle now and likes physical attention.%A0%A0Key for Enzo is structure and channeling his energy to positive things before he gets a chance to be bored.%A0 Enzo is a happy fun loving young dog who is up for anything fun and loves to learn.%A0 He has a lot of potential as a fun adventuring/sporting companion.%A0 We see him living with a young active couple or family who have a yard to play in, can take him for hikes and make him a big part of their lives.%A0 If he had a theme song it would be 'Everything is Awesome' from the Lego movie because he is always happy and upbeat.%A0 He's been a fun dog to have around. Enzo is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in SoCal. Adopters must be able to meet and adopt here. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required.
