This Beautiful Boy is Buddy he is a handsome, golden rust colored boy with a gorgeous, sleek, soft coat and beautiful topaz eyes. He's approximately 1-2 years old so he still has some puppy traits. Buddy is a large boy Weighing 75lb He has a lovely carefree personality and has been friendly toward every dog we've met (large and small). He has transitioned beautifully into his two dog (seniors) foster household and has adjusted easily to his routine. The first night, he slept with us on the bed but now he seems to prefer the dog bed next to our bed. After a good walk, run or play time he settles well and will follow you around the house and lay down next to you or be right under foot wherever you are. He loves his tennis balls. Not exactly a retriever but he will bring you a ball to toss for him, with a soft woof to get your attention or just carry a ball around to occupy his mouth. He has great house manners. He has not been kenneled, has had no accidents and no signs of being destructive. He knows sit and has good recall when off leash in an open area without major distractions. He does not react to crazy barking dogs other than being curious over the commotion but he will still want to approach them when maybe he shouldn't. He rarely barks unless he hears something unusual and then it is only a brief alert type bark. He gets super excited when you come home after being gone or he knows he's going somewhere and has a tendency to jump and squirm but he settles down pretty quickly. His excitement when going somewhere can make getting a collar/harness and leash on him a challenge but he's improving. He needs a little help/direction getting into a car. He gets his feet up or goes up the ramp but then he stops and needs a little help going the rest of the way. He rides well in the car but does want to be close to you so he has a tendency to climb over the seat without a restraint. He is pretty good on a leash but tends to pull until some of his energy is burned off. He loves the yard and figured out our dog door very quickly. He will go outside on his own and just hang out. Overall Buddy is a great dog who will only get better over time. He is loving, loyal and energetic and would be a great fit for an active family that enjoys the outdoors and being with their dog. We rescued Buddy from the shelter a great boy but a little too much for the family that surrendered him. We are now looking for the right home for Buddy one where he can be stable and feel secure he has been moved around in his short life Buddy would love a playful sister and a family that is home most of the time, This boy does not need crating but he does not need to be left alone for many hours. Buddy is energetic so he does need a fenced in yard and someone that can take him out on adventures which he loves Buddy is a large energetic boy so no toddlers for Buddy Children 10 and over are fine No cats for Buddy Buddy is up to date on all shots he is neutered Micro chipped and up to date on prevention Please note we do not place our dogs in rental accommodation apartments or Town homes Thank you for taking the time to read Buddys short Bio Buddy is currently located in North Florida Please contact us if you have what it takes to make this special boys life complete
