About Zero

Adoption Fee: $200.00
Cocker Spaniel mix
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

Meet Zero! This sweet old man is estimated to be 11 years old and weighs about 19 pounds. Zero is a cocker spaniel mix who found himself at the pound not once but twice. He was adopted 10 years ago, then showed up again in July 2021 as a matted stray. The vet techs had to shave Zero to get rid of the painful mats and treated him for severe ear infections. Now, he is feeling much better and ready for his new happy life. Zero is completely blind, so he is looking for a special forever home to love him and keep him safe for the rest of his life. Zero loves his food and treats. He has some arthritis in his back legs, so he does not want to go on walks. However, Zero loves belly rubs and pets. In exchange, Zero gives soft gentle kisses. He goes into his crate nicely and sleeps peacefully all night. Zero also behaves wonderfully in his crate during the day when his people are away from home. He is fully housebroken and has never had a potty accident in his crate at his foster home. Zero gets along with all four of the resident dogs in his foster home, but he is not dependent on being with another dog. Even though he can't see them, Zero knows he is not a fan of cats. When his keen sense of smell picks up on a cat, he becomes agitated and barks, so Zero is looking for a home with none of those pesky cats to bother him. Zero is looking for a forever family who will earn his trust and keep him safe. He has learned to navigate areas of his foster home by feel and smell. He knows how to get himself back inside the house after he does his business in the yard. However, Zero cannot be left unsupervised around stairs, as he may fall and hurt himself. He is brave and smart, and his foster parents have no doubt that he will acclimate to his new home and learn the lay of the land. Zero would thrive in a calm home where he can bond with a person he trusts. Once he bonds with someone, he seeks out affection and has so much love to give. Since he can't see people approaching him and may get startled, a home without children is best. Zero has been through so much and has been let down before. He is a survivor. He deserves a wonderful life. Someone would be so lucky to be Zero's new best friend! Zero is fostering in Boardman, OH and his adoption fee is $200.00.
