About Charley

Charley is a 6 year old Shih-Tzu who was found sleeping in the road. Why was he doing that? Because he couldn't see. He hadn't been groomed in years and could not see where he was. Long story short, he ended up at a local shelter where Furever Angels got him the next day. He went directly to the groomer and a few hours later was completely shaved down and 1 pound lighter! Charley is heartworm negative, microchipped, up to date on all vaccines, neutered and groomed! He weighs 13 pounds. He's a very happy little dog. He loves all people and other dogs too. Charley had a very hard life prior to coming into rescue as evidenced by his left eye. At first it looked so bad that we went to the ophthalmologist. We don't know the cause although it could have been trauma. With eye drops it started to look better after just a few days. He still doesn't see out of it but at least it doesn't have to come out. He does have 'dry eye' and we use drops for that. His adopter will have to continue with the drops. Charley loves to go on walks and eat. His house training is in progress and the adopter will have to continue with that. In just the past couple days, Charley has started playing with toys and the resident dog. For this reason we'd like the adopter to have a dog that's close to Charley's age?' Charley is about 6, maybe a little younger.'
