About Rio

Rio is a friendly, high energy dog. The best scenario would be a home where she is the only dog initially and the owner is experienced with high energy dogs. She does fine with my 2 Great Danes, but does not do well with leashed introductions with other dogs. Rio is my daughter's dog and she has moved back in with her parents. She is very loyal and an excellent watch dog. My only concern around kids is that she jumps up on people when excited. She is housebroken, crate trained, and knows basic commands. She would need a 6 foot fence or be tethered to a pole or a large tire to prevent her from jumping a fence. With training, I believe this can be prevented. We are not asking for a fee, but would need a veterinary reference to be sure she is going to an experienced pet home.
