About Mr. Big

Pit Bull mix

Mr. Big. Big is best described as a big lovable goober. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him, and his giant personality and goofy antics crack us up! His favorite activities are naps on the couch, car rides, trips to Home Depot, swimming, and rolling around in the grass.%A0 He's been with us for over two years now, and while we all adore him, it's past time he finds his forever home! -We came across Mr. Big at the Yakima Humane Society in March of 2019. He was in rough shape, and the second we met him, he knew he was leaving with us. While we don't know Mr. Big's story before he was picked up as a stray and brought to the shelter, it was obvious he had been in many dog fights in his life. He had scars all over his body, newer wounds on his face, one of his eyeballs was ruptured, lots of broken teeth, entropion eyelid on his good eye, and a torn ACL. Obviously, it took us quite a bit to get Big all fixed up and healthy, but after 7 months, he finally got the all clear. He's been through a lot, but has come out the other side and is more than ready to find his happily ever after!%A0%A0 -His age is definitely a guess, but we estimate he was probably born around 2012-2013. He weighs in at about 70 pounds (although he looks bigger with his massive head and neck!), but he's a pretty short dude.%A0 -Mellow, lazy couch potato in the house. After he goes on an adventure to Home Depot or for a swim, he's ready to nap for several days.%A0 -He thinks Home Depot is the best. He isn't phased by crowds of people, carts, tools, crazy sights and sounds, just as long as there are no other dogs in sight. We've even put him in a cart there and zoomed around the plant section. He had a blast! -Swimming is another of his favorite activities. He would swim straight out to the middle of a lake or river if not on a long line! He also thinks playing in waves is great fun. -Mr. Big absolutely loves meeting new people, and will greet everyone with super slobbery kisses and 'love chomps'. He never got the memo that he shouldn't use his mouth to greet people, and since he has no front teeth anymore, people just feel his gums and huge tongue.%A0 -Mr. Big would do best in a home with no young kids, since he doesn't know the power of his big headed self.%A0 -Is dog reactive away from his foster home, so needs a home with a yard so there isn't the risk of seeing other dogs every time he needs to go outside to potty. No apartments for Mr. Big. -For almost two years, we've said that Mr. Big needs to be the only dog in his adoptive home. However, with the right adopter and the right other dog, it is *possible* he could go to a home with another dog. He is fine with his foster's female pittie, but they had a very slow introduction over the course of several months. An adopter would need to be prepared for incredibly slow introductions through crates (over the course of weeks or months). The other dog in the home needs to be female, laid back, not dominant, not reactive, and not nervous or anxious. Mr. Big isn't a big player, so a playful dog in the home wouldn't be a good fit. We have not seen Mr. Big with dogs smaller than 50 pounds, and no kitties for him.%A0 -Best copilot you could ask for. He LOVES car rides. -Needs an adopter who will provide clear structure and boundaries. %A0 -Mr. Big is house trained, crate trained, and overall very well behaved in the house.%A0 -His tongue is epic, and really it should have its own social media account.%A0 Mr. Big's adoption fee is $350 and, as with all our dogs, he is neutered, up to date on vaccines and is microchipped.%A0 He is also on flea/tick/heartworm prevention as appropriate.%A0 If interested in adopting Mr. Big, please fill out an application at: https://www.forgottendogsrescue.com/adoption-application **See more pictures of Mr. Big and his entire journey with us on his Facebook album** https://www.facebook.com/pg/forgottendogsrescue/photos/?tab=album&album_id=2359870957365021
