About Maggie

Maggie (fka Merry) is a true sweetheart; 5 years old and 13#. We think she's along haired Chi mix. She came to the rescue and delivered 6 beautiful puppies, which was highly stressful for her. This stress has caused a mild skin and eye infection, which is non-contagious, and we have medicine from the vet to treat her once she is no longer feeding the pups. Other than that, she got a clean bill of health at her vet visit. She has been a great mama, definitely protective of her babies but very quickly opened up to her foster family and allowed them to handle the puppies daily. She is a faithful lap dog and only wants to be with her people. Maggie is potty trained but will need some watching in a new environment in carpeted areas or upstairs away from the doggie door. A fenced in area would be best for her and older, respectful children if any in the home. She gets along with other dogs but will be happiest as an only dog, so she gets all the attention. We'd like her to go to a quiet home where she will be spoiled, not left alone too often, and would love to be taken along on errands or any rides. Maggie walks well on a leash and is starting to show interest in a few toys. She's an old soul with a bit of playfulness. Her adoption fee is $350 and we are not doing any out of state adoptions.
