About Griffey

Griffey is a 5 year old, 90lb Cane Corso or Great Dane mix (as far as we can guess). He was abandoned by his former owner and someone brought him into a nearby vet where my husband worked. Animal control was going to be called so we took him in but we do not have the time or resources to give him the life he really deserves. He's current on his vaccinations and flea meds. He's lived with adults, a toddler and cats and has done wonderfully with everyone, but due to his size we'd prefer him with respectful older children. He's played with dogs of all kinds and does well, but even though he is submissive with people he can be a little more dominant with other dogs, so keep that in mind. He is fully housetrained; we have not tried a crate as we let him have the run of the house when we are gone with no problem. He knows 'sit,' 'shake,' 'other paw,' and 'lie down.' He listens well and is very smart so he can learn quickly. He absolutely adores fetch and carrying around and chewing up stuffed animals and fleece blankets. He does pull harder on the leash when walking but he can be corrected. He love people and gets VERY excited about visitors. He enjoys playing hard at fetch but also is a big snuggly couch potato; he prefers sleeping in bed next to his human. He is just a really loving and loyal companion. We want to see him go to a great home with someone who can give him the love and attention he truly deserves. Please note, we will not consider a home where he will be used as an outside/guard dog. Adoption fee will be donated back to site.
