About Bellatrix

Bellatrix is a very special girl and needs an extra special adopter. Bellatrix came to us in May 2021 when a breeder's house burned down and he needed to placed his dogs. Bellatrix was one of 30 dogs that needed to be placed and she is the only one who came to us. When she was dropped off at our vet she was malnourished, unvaccinated, unspayed, unsocialized, and misunderstood; just to name a few of her issues. She was put on anti inflammatory medication and antibiotics because of the infection and swelling on her paws from the urine and feces in the cage she was being kept in. Bellatrix is not 100% potty trained and we believe it's because of her spending her life in a kennel. She wears pampers, and also uses pee pads, but with a scheduled routine we feel she can overcome this. In addition to all of that, she was diagnosed with Brachycephalic syndrome. She has since been with an amazing foster mommy who has gone above and beyond to cater to Bella and her needs to rehabilitate her to, but she is ready for her forever home. Bella has gained weight and is in the best health of her life! On September 7th she had surgery to address her Brachycephalic syndrome and she is now doing amazing! She breathes better, and is now able to eat more independently but does still need a little help, and she can drink water without limits. This surgery has helped Bellatrix become more independent, and live a normal life. Bella is about 25lbs, she does very well with other dogs and with cats. Her 'breed' is an 'American Bully' but she did not come with any paperwork and her breeder did not have any kind of licensing to breed.
