About Zara

Zara is a sweet, gentle little soul that wants nothing more than a bowl of food and to be with her person. She can be a little shy at first until she knows she is safe and loved. Zara is very good in the house. She doesn't get into things, is non-destructive and is practically house trained. She may get up in the middle of the night and need to potty but other than that, she is good as long as she is let out often. This sweet girl is not an overly needy dog and will rarely sit on your lap but she will follow you from room to room and loves to be by your side. If you let her sit with you on the couch, sleep with you in the bed, or be at your feet... she is a happy camper. If you're lucky she will give you little kisses from time to time. At 10 years old, she has put behind her the need for playing or toys. She is good with other dogs, although she really doesn't make any effort to interact with them. She is good for her bath and good in her crate. Zara is a Shih Tzu who walks well on a leash and likes to go for ride. Zara sees pretty well during the day but has limited sight at night. It is possible that years of untreated ear infections have caused this little lady to lose her hearing, so we have taught her hand signals that she does quite well with. Zara is a quiet girl that we think will do best in a quiet home, and would be a perfect senior for a senior.
