Please note: we adopt only in San Diego, Orange and Riverside Counties in So. CA. Billy's forever home needs a securely fenced yard. Also, he would not do well if left alone for long periods. Billy is approximately one and a half years old and weighs 9 pounds, 6 ounces. The last year of his life has been spent here in PAPS Rescue overcoming what must have been a very traumatic puppyhood that left him terrified of everyone and everything. He has shown enormous strength on the road to becoming a 'normal dog'. Now he is not just a 'normal dog' but an amazingly affectionate, playful pup who will make a wonderful companion in a home with an experienced dog owner who uses only positive reinforcement to continue his training. When Billy came into rescue he cowered and couldn't be touched for weeks. Gradually he came to trust and became an outgoing Pap who loves everyone he meets. We don't know how he will react to rehoming. He may adapt quickly or he might need a period of adjustment and lots of patience from his adopter. He adores other dogs and his ideal forever home will have at least one other young, playful small dog. Billy is a long and lean Papillon who has a wonderfully dirt-resistant coat so that during the time he cringed when touched and so couldn't be bathed, he never seemed dirty. He has just had his first bath, which he tolerated remarkably well S Billy is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Adoption from Papillons and Playmates requires an application, phone interview and home visit.
