About Dutchess

Australian Cattle Dog / Border Collie
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Dutchess, 2 year old female Cattle Dog mix in Plattsburgh, NY is urgently in need of a new home. As a puppy, Dutchess was left in a parking lot near the Canadian border (with her other siblings) and people were just giving them away. The current owner adopted her at a few weeks old and bottle fed her. They live in a small apartment in Plattsburgh, NY with another dog, a 10 year old Beagle. Also, a baby is due in January. Their lease is up and they need to leave at the end of the month. The apartment is too confining and Dutchess is high energy, and can be territorial of her space. Dutchess worked with a trainer for 6 weeks. She is better with men than women and has alpha issues with the female owner. She is great off leash, won't run away. She follows you around, is smart, food driven, and can be a lot of fun. She is good with kids but does having nipping behavior and they are concerned with the baby coming. The nipping can be food related (when she wants their food.) If you are an experienced ACD owner and can help, please contact [email protected].
