Khuya became part of our home 2 months ago, after original owner abandoned him. He craves attention and will follow me everywhere around the house. He is 40 lbs, and about 3 years old. Previous owner's roommate says he is half standard schnauzer and half border collie (looks 100% std schnauzer to me). He was too aggressive to our other 2 dogs (15 and 22 lbs), and we hoped that would settle, but it occasionally has been getting worse (usually on his part). Loves the 6 month old cat, just doesn't like competition for attention. I have been trying to teach him to stop certain behaviors, but he doesn't understand 'stop' or 'no'. This is only a problem when he gets too excited wanting to play with me, and he likes to jump up and sometimes give a little push (herding nature perhaps). He loves to play and if he gets a few minutes to play every once in a while he settles down and follow me around house to lay down next to wherever I am. His overly energetic nature improved greatly when we put a doggy door in to our moderate (50' x 50') back yard. He needs grain free food to prevent ear itching. I'd love to keep him, but currently have to keep him separate from the other 2, and that is getting tough logistically and emotionally. He is house trained, but needs to learn some basic discipline. Would be a great companion/guard dog to a home with no other dogs and access to activity.
