About Stubby the lil bruiser

Hi there! I'm Stubby, and I'm a sweet, calm, mellow, easygoing, people-pleasing, and affectionate brindle and white English Bulldog fella who was born in December 2020. I weigh 43 pounds now but should top out at 50 pounds when I'm full grown. My weight doesn't preclude my wanting to curl up in your lap! I'm great with everyone, including other dogs, and, if I'm like most bulldogs, I should be especially fond of children. Despite my jowly, formidable appearance, I'm a docile, loyal companion who's kind but courageous, friendly but dignified. I'm a thick-set, low-slung, well-muscled bruiser whose 'sourmug' face is the universal symbol of courage and tenacity. This is especially true in England, where I'm an icon and where my forefather was a look-alike companion of double-chinned Sir Winston. My loose facial skin, furrowed brow, pushed-in nose, small ears, undershot jaw with hanging chops on either side, and my distinctive rolling gait all practically scream 'I'm a Bulldog!' But I'm not lazy -- I enjoy brisk walks and need regular, moderate exercise to stay trim. Summer afternoons in Houston are best spent in an air-conditioned room as my short snout can cause labored breathing in hot and humid weather. In fact, Miss Donna prefers that I be adopted by someone who understands from experience that I may have certain medical issues because of my flat muzzle. For example, my facial wrinkles need to be kept clean and dry as they are susceptible to irritation and infection. Also, Miss Donna insists that I be adopted within Texas, and preferably within metro Houston. I was taken from my owner due to their neglect, but I'm fixing my eyes forward and not backward in the past. I'm just grateful to be here with Miss Donna, who I'm confident will find me a superior second -- and this time forever -- home. Because I have such an amiable, pacific personality, there are plenty of households in which I would fit like a glove. Why don't you arrange to meet me today? Stubby is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, on heartworm preventative, and working on being fully trained. His adoption fee is $300 for puppies 9 months and younger. An application must be filled out prior to adoption.
