Location: Fort Collins CO (Age 1yr) Hi, my name is Joey, and I'm looking for my forever home! My foster mom says I'm SUPER sweet and a total love bug. I just want a human to call my own who will give me head scratches and snuggle with me. Bonus points if you let me crawl into your lap too. I am a mellow, docile guy and would love just being a couch potato. My Dane foster sister and I get along great. She wants nonstop endless play time, and I'm cool with playing together for a bit until I'm ready for my next nap and then I'll retreat to my crate where I can snooze in peace. So I would probably love having another large doggy sibling who is on the calmer side. I'd probably be ok without one too as long as my human is cool with lots of snuggles. I also do well sleeping in the crate overnight with a nice comfy bed that I don't even try to eat! Sometimes I'll resist going in there for a minute but will settle in and get comfy once I'm in there. With the crate training, I've gotten pretty good with the house training too! I even go to the door when I need to potty now. My foster mom is also working on teaching me the basics like 'come' and 'sit' - they're all new to me but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it with some practice. There are a lot of things that are new to me for that matter, which can definitely be scary and overwhelming sometimes. But I just go lean on my foster mom for some reassurance and neck scratches. I'm slowly starting to learn that not everything is scary and would love a human who's willing to continue gently showing me this. I haven't been exposed to cats, so those are unknown. I would do best with older and calm children since I'm a pretty laid back guy. A wild child would overwhelm me. Preferably kids 10+. I tend to warm up to women quicker than men, but once I learn you're a nice guy then we're cool. I can get a bit slobbery when eating and especially when drinking, but a quick towl dry of my big floppy jowls after mealtime takes care of it.
