About Sissy

Maltese
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

Meet Sissy!!! Sissy is a 5 month old female Maltipoo that needs your help to find the perfect forever home! Sissy is a miracle puppy. We don't know exactly what happened to her, but due to the nature of her injuries, we assume it was some type of head trauma. She arrived to the shelter at 5 weeks old with one eye hanging out of the socket that had clearly been left in that state for at least a few days without care. This eye was immediately removed and we brought her home as a 2 pound tiny little one-eyed girl and got her through the recovery period. As she had the opportunity to heal and get through the early puppy stage, it became more apparent that Sissy might be blind in the other eye and have some neurological deficits as well. Sissy will more than likely spend the rest of her life managing some quirks that she's left with as a result of the head trauma. Special features on this model of dog: %8F Routinely spins when she's trying to figure out what her next move is. Just add Swiffer pads to her feet and you've got your own 4-legged floor cleaning system. Definitely the cutest cleaning tool we've ever seen! %8F Prefers to dive head first into her food bowl while pieces of food splash on the ground. BONUS: Works great as an automatic feeder for the other dogs in the household! You may notice your other pets standing around like it's time to catch the bouquet at a wedding. %8F She's not huge on cuddling and it seems to put her into sensory overload. She'll make a great counterpart to all the other little dogs that give unsolicited kisses and stick their tongues up your nose. This girl knows all about asking for consent. Sissy would do fine in a home with or without other dogs but she does seem to enjoy and learn by following them around. She is such a happy girl in her own unique little way and we want to find her the perfect home that will adore her goofy quirks and be patient with her as she adjusts. We have found that with a mild sedative, her Sissy-isms calm down. With medication, she becomes much more comfortable with touch and she even seems to move around easier so there are definitely options available to help her. With all that said, Sissy deserves a special home so please note that the rescue will definitely be picky with applications to make sure she spends the rest of her life being doted on and spoiled.
