About Roxy

Roxy is an absolute doll! She will take every opportunity she gets to be on your lap or under your feet! She loves to snuggle! She is crate trained, sleeps in her crate at night and while we are away from the house. She will even nap in her crate when she wants some quiet time. She loves to play, especially fetch, though she's not real great at dropping the ball when she brings it back! She is extremely tall when on her hind legs, she can get just about anything down from the counter. She will dig in trash and loves toilet paper! Even though you would have to keep things high enough away that she can't get, she minds extremely well. She goes outside without a leash or fence and will come back on command. She is ok on a leash. She is definitely an alpha dog with a pack mentality. We adopted her from a breeder a little over a year ago. She has had a litter of puppies, but is spayed. She will be 5 in October and is full blooded, AKC registered, we do have her papers. While she was at the breeders, she was attacked by two female dogs, so we think that is where she gets her alpha mentality from. She is not aggressive, but will go in fight mode if another dog shows their aggression towards her, or if you are reprimanding either dog. This is why we believe she would be better in a home with no other dogs. We are not sure of how she is with cats. She has been around our 5 year old granddaughter and did very well, but we never left them alone together. We have another female rottie, and they have been in several bad fights, to the point now they growl when they go near each other. It pains us to have to remove her from the home, but she cannot play or be a 'dog' for fear of the next big fight. She deserves to be happy!
