About Chelsea

Chelsea is a 1 year old (DOB 9/23/20) spayed blue merle female. She is looking for a new home as she and the other female in the home have been getting into fights. She is a smaller Aussie at 30 pounds. She is currently on a hydrolyzed protein diet ( https://www.petmd.com/dog/what-hydrolyzed-protein-dog-food ) to help her gain weight. Her owner reports that knows 'sit', 'wait for 'free' when door is opened and has great recall. Her owner also says she is a very playful dog. Chelsea is a high energy dog who would do best in an active home where she will get exercise on a daily basis. She would also benefit from a training class and may do well in a dog sport such as agility. A home is being sought with a traditionally fenced yard so that Chelsea has the opportunity to run off some of her energy. She has not been exposed to cats so will not be placed in a home with them. She has not lived with children so only homes with children 12 or older will be considered. She does appear to like other dogs, an active male companion will be considered. Chelsea is currently living with her owners in Westport, CT. ARPH is screening homes for the owner . An ARPH application www.aussierescue.org will be required as well as a home visit. Our organization requires prospective adopters to complete an approval process prior to meeting with dogs in our program. This includes: *Completion of Adoption Application *Veterinarian Check *Reference Checks (non-relatives) *Home Visit WE ARE NOT ACTIVE IN THE 5 BOROUGH AREA OF NEW YORK CITY SO ARE UNABLE TO PROCESS APPLICATIONS FROM THERE.
