About Blu

Adoption Fee: $300
Siberian Husky
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Nashville Tn (and surrounding cities) I rescued a purebred Siberian Husky who was in a very bad situation. She is doing much better and I am just starting my search for a perfect home. This will not be easy for me, but I'm looking for the perfect home for this gorgeous dog. Perfect for a elderly single person wanting some company. Or a couple with older children. Even a young active adult. Musts: *No babies or small children for safety reasons. I suggest around 10 and up are fine. Calm laid back households are good. *No other pets. She is good with other animals but I suggest her being a only animal to start off and possibly bringing one in later. *Experience with training animals a plus but willingness to learn is a must! *You will needs everything for a dog: Food (although I will send some of what she has been eating), crate (at least for a while since she is used to sleeping in one), fenced in yard a huge plus, vet reference snd personal references. I will send her with her favorite toys but you will want to take her to pick out her own. If you meet those qualifications, please keep reading. About her: Positives: about 2 years old, gorgeous, blue eyes (been calling her Blu), super sweet, loves belly rubs, she can lay down and be calm for hours or spend the whole day out and about. Great with car rides. Does great in crowds. Up to date on all shots and chipped. She has been given Advantage II, once a month just in case. She's good with my cats, a little scared of them actually. Negatives: Although she is super friendly, it takes a while for her to trust strangers. If she does not know you or trust you, she may snap at you if you touch her face. Once you go through a process to desensitize her to you she is fine. Other then that she is good with strangers and always comes off extremely friendly. Except for vets. Our vet had to muzzle her for shots. She will not pass the test to be groomed either, but I bathed her with no problem when we first got her. She seems to have issues with female dogs. She was abused at one point but I don't know details. She also has some possession aggression, meaning once she gets a toy she wants, she will not give it up. I have worked with her and she is fine with me. She will be fine with a new other as soon as she is used to it. She is absolutely great with kids, but I am afraid if your kid touches her wrong or startles her, she may snap at them, that's why i am suggesting adults ir older children only in your home. If you are still reading this, that's a huge plus! Rehoming her will be a whole separate process which will start by you meeting her a few times and us coming to your home a few times. If everything is working out we can stretch the time out to a few hours until she is comfortable enough to stay permanently. Please feel free to pm me. If you know someone who would be up for this task PERMANENTLY please let me know. These qualifications are tough and I know there are probably very few people who will be a great fit, but those are the only ones I am looking for. Thank you!
