About Giant Clam

Adoption Fee: $350
Foxhound mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

***Please read below for information about sweet Giant Clam. For additional information and to complete an application to adopt, please see his webpage at: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/11046 *** My name is Giant Clam and I'm part of the Sea Creature themed transport that arrived 8/20! I'm guessed to be about 3 years old, a hound mix, a sweet guy and I weigh about 45 lbs. I'm named after the giant clam, which are the largest living bivalve mollusks and one of the most endangered clam species. I have made my way north to look for a new family! My foster mom believes that I favor the American Foxhound breed. My foster mom has observed the following about me: * I am very friendly and affectionate. * I get along great with other dogs and children. * I enjoy exploring scents and I love to run. * No aggressive behavior. * I enjoy being lightly petted when I am eating. * I enjoy cheese and peanut butter as a snack. * House trained. * Crate trained. * I sleep very well in the crate. * I enjoy kong toys and chasing play balls in the yard. * I bark when I hear a strange noise or see a strange person from afar. I am not afraid of thunderstorms. * I love to be close to my foster mom and love to be cuddled. I would be a great play companion for children in a very secure fenced-in yard. I would also be a great companion for someone to walk with that enjoys lots of exercise. To sum it up, I am a lovable boy in need of a loving, forever home. Please apply to adopt me if you decide that I may be the perfect family member to add to your home. My foster mom has personally noted all of these wonderful traits about me. Please apply today! I won't be available for long! (Giant Clam is up-to-date on his vaccinations and has been neutered. Giant Clam is currently being fostered in Pasadena, MD. All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Davidsonville, MD for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Davidsonville. This dog's bio is based off the experiences of the foster and/or volunteers of OPH as well as any information that we received from the shelter or previous owner. This is very important because it means that while they may act one way in the foster's home, you may experience something different in your home.) ***For additional information and to complete an application to adopt, please see Giant Clam's webpage at: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/11046 ***
