About Dobby

This outgoing boy can put a smile on your face just by looking at him! This is Dobby! He is 7 year old, 18.8 pound standard Dachshund. Dobby was surrendered to us after both of his owners passed away from Covid. He is a very loving and cuddly boy who will find his place in any home almost immediately. Dobby has 100% never met a stranger! He likes to be on or near a lap, any lap, and he is the best snuggler! He is also very generous with his kisses. Dobby is always happy and does a little dance at meal time and at outside time. He is good with other dogs and enjoys their company. We think he might be ok as an only dog, but he would do great with another Doxie or dog to play with. He has not been tested with cats or kids since we have had him, but we think he would be just fine with older kids. Dobby walks well on a leash but also really enjoys wandering the yard smelling and exploring everything. We were told he is housebroken however we have noticed a tendency to mark. His foster family is working with him on this. Dobby sleeps curled up in the big bed, either at the foot of the bed or between his foster parents, all night long. He has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration.
