About Eva

This cutie is Eva! Eva is a 7 year old, 7 pound Pomeranian who was surrendered to rescue with several other dogs. Eva was not socialized to a family, and is still a little timid around people. She never knew what it was like to have someone love her and take care of her, so she will need a family with patience who will give her time to get fully comfortable with them. Eva is a very loving little girl and as she has settled into her foster home she has discovered that she likes to be petted and will sit next to her foster mom for some gentle loving. She gets along great with other dogs and would probably be best with another small dog in the home to take cues from. She doesn't play much but she definitely enjoys their company. Eva has not been around cats since she has been in rescue. Young kids will likely be too much for her and frighten her, so a home without them will be her best fit. She might be okay with an quiet older child, maybe 12 and up, familiar with small dogs. She is not leash trained and is unsure on a harness and leash so a fenced yard is required. Eva's housebreaking is a work in progress. She mostly goes outside to potty, and will occasionally use a potty pad, but still does have accidents and will need someone to work with her and give her a lot of positive reinforcement and a solid routine. At night she sleeps in a dog bed in the bedroom. Eva has been to the vet for a wellness check, has had a dental, is spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration.
