About BooBoo

American Shorthair / Domestic Cat
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Description: Neutered male red tabby cat. White boots, chest and belly. Striped tail. Age: Based on what the vet estimated the first time I brought him in, his age now would be between 8 and 9 years old so with proper care and food he probably has another 6 or so years. Living condition: Because he is declawed, he is an indoor cat only. He still has his back claws, but he still tries to sharpen the non-existent front claws on any cardboard box, box fan or the sofa. He does no damage to any of these but he causes noise. He doesn't try to get out the front door when it is opened, but really likes to explore the garage so I have to keep him from going out the basement to garage door while I am coming in said door. I don't have any idea how he would react to children, but I know he does well with adults. Food: He has been fed Blue Buffalo's Blue Wilderness kibble of the salmon variety. He also likes their wet food Healthy Gourmet Fish & Shrimp flaked entr̩e. He is very curious about what is being fixed in the kitchen, but doesn't seem to care for table scraps, except for bacon or ham lunch meat- he loves them. He doesn't seem to care for chicken or other fowl dishes. Just fishy cat foods. Vet: Crestwood Animal Hospital, located on the East side of Pacific Hwy just South of 288th Street. Habits: Boo-Boo is litter box trained, using the Costco cat litter. He is a 'people's' cat as opposed to a 'cat's' cat. So, he has been like an orange shadow to me all over the house. He follows me from end to end of the house or up and down stairs. He's like all cats in that he loves to sleep or cat nap. He also likes to sit at the sliding glass doors and look out on the deck or patio. He has many vocalizations instead of a simple meow. I don't understand all of them all, but apparently, he does. He generally answers to his name when called. Likes: First off, he has to come to you, as he does not like to be picked up or carried. But he loves to be a lap cat. He loves to be petted on the head and ears, and loves to have his rump at the base of the tail scratched. He likes his chest rubbed but does not like his belly rubbed. He loves to eat his food and then loves to lie on his back sleeping off in his cat food coma. He also likes to snuggle if I am in bed, but has been banished from the master bedroom. Dislikes: He really, really does not like to be picked up, particularly if there is a cage waiting for him. A pair of welder's gauntlets and a bath towel helps immensely. I mentioned a few things above, but all in all he has a pretty even disposition.
