About Hattie & Daisy

Adoption Fee: $600
Dachshund
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Daisy and Hattie are bonded 3 year old sisters looking for their forever home. At 14 pounds, they are beautiful loving girls who have never been apart since the day they were born. Daisy and Hattie are submissive girls who love to be together. They will play together, however Daisy is most playful with her foster family. Hattie would prefer to lay and cuddle. Daisy and Hattie are very opposite in their personalities but their bond is so intense that they hate to be apart even for a short time. The girls love to chase each other around the yard in their foster home in Alabama. When their eyes connect across the yard they will turn into statues for a few seconds having a stare off and then out of nowhere, they're off to the races! Zoomies! Daisy and Hattie love their toys and each one of them are very loving. Hattie loves to lay on the top of a couch and survey her surroundings, especially if she can look out of a window. Daisy knows how to strike a pose and loves to have her picture taken! Daisy and Hattie had very little socialization prior to coming to rescue and this has made them quite insecure. They would like a home where their people are home most of the time. Hattie and Daisy must be the only dogs in their homes. Their insecurities has previously caused them to be reactive to other dogs in an aggressive way. The girls are good with children over the age of 8 years. They would not be good in a home with a kitty. These lovely girls are leash trained and crate trained. They are working on their house training and continue to improve. Like all dogs, they will need to be confident in their environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important. Daisy and Hattie need consistency and reminding to continue their house training. To help Daisy and Hattie continue to become happy and well rounded dogs we recommend that their adopters have the girls work with a behaviourist to continue their journey. These lovely dogs work to please their people but it takes them time to feel confident and comfortable. They need structure and routine to feel safe and to help them understand that they have a family who is keeping them safe. Daisy Mae had a high liver level when she first came into our rescue that appears to be well managed at this time. She has had a lot of vet care, which included lots of blood work, ultrasounds and other tests that were completed and there does not appear to be any underlying issues, but it will need to be monitored. These lovely girls are just waiting for someone to open their arms and welcome them home. Are you the lucky one? Apply to adopt them today!
